The first competitive run up the mountain found that the alternator was not charging thus the sluggishness with the electric assisted power steering and motor. With two runs missed it was nolonger possible to win the event.

Overnight work by the team had refreshed hope as the alternator was fixed.

The first attempt up the mountain Saturday found that the lack of charge had but been only one of a few minor problems that would ultimately put the team out of the event.

"Its disappointing for us all," said Kevin. "There was no point continuing with a car not capable of its best."

"Our record for the fastest car ever up the mountain remains intact so we will return next year to attempt to reduce it even further ."
